What Causes Psoriatic Arthritis Symptoms?
Psoriatic arthritis symptoms are caused by layers of skin cells that are replaced much too fast. Look at it like this, skin is basically made up of several layers, a very thin outer layer of dead cells down to the very inner layer of skin. Normally skin regenerates itself completely over the course of about a month from the outer layers to the lower layers. What happens is, new skin underneath replaces the layer of skin on top of itself, then at the same time the outer layer of dead skin is removed.
Patients with psoriasis have this happen way too fast, which causes the skin to regenerate itself and only a matter of days not a month. Resulting in layers of skin cells that cannot be removed quickly enough. This is what causes psoriatic arthritis symptoms.
